It will cost you more to purchase vape products starting today.

A 20 per cent tax on vaping products, announced in September’s budget, comes into effect today.

The tax applies to vaping devices, substances or “juices” and packages.

The tax is intended as a deterrent to young people picking up the habit.

A recent survey of Canadian students found that 47 per cent of students in Grades 7 to 12 in this province have tried vaping, with almost 30 per cent of students asked indicating that they had vaped in the last 30 days.
