UCL Researchers Find no Link Between Vaping and Covid-19

Researchers from the University College London, UK, explored “i) associations between vaping and self-reported diagnosed/suspected Covid-19; ii) changes in vaping since Covid-19 and factors associated with these changes; iii) whether Covid-19 motivated current or recent ex-vapers to quit.” Self-reported data on sociodemographic characteristics, diagnosed/suspected Covid-19, vaping status, changes in vaping and motivation to quit vaping since Covid-19, was compiled via survey responses from a total of 2791 participants. EU Commission Meeting to Discuss Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan

Documents leaked earlier this month pertaining to the EC’s “Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan” (EBCP), indicated a goal of creating a ‘tobacco-free generation’ by 2040. According to these documents the plan is based on four key pillars: prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care – with seven flagship initiatives and a number of supporting actions. Japan: Another Study Shows HTPs Led to Drop in Cigarettes Sales 

The new iQOS heat stick branded “Heets”. U.S. FTC Orders Five Vape Brands to Submit Their Sales And Ads. Data

The businesses in question are JUUL Labs Inc.; R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company; Fontem US LLC; Logic Technology Development LLC; and NJOY LLC, and the FTC said the aim is to gather information from 2019 and 2020, including annual data on sales and giveaways of e-cigarettes, whilst analysing products’ specifications such as flavours. Study: Ozone Breaks Down Thirdhand Cannabis Residue on Surfaces 

Given that cannabis smoke is chemically distinct from tobacco smoke, researchers Aaron Wylie and Jonathan Abbatt aimed to identify the compounds formed when THC on surfaces reacts with ozone in the air. NZ’s Health Ministry Ignores Vape Flavour Petition

Countless vape advocates in New Zealand, have always been in favour of, and even urged local authorities to set in place, vape regulations. However, they believe that the Ministry of Health’s proposed fee structure and proposed flavour restrictions in the proposed bill, will be counterproductive to public health. US: Smokers in Illinois Given Priority to Receive Coronavirus Vaccine

As part of the state’s vaccination schedule, smokers in Illinois have been included in the list of residents considered high-risk, which alongside seniors and essential workers, are currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, as per the move to Phase 1B+ gone into effect on February 25th.
